Introducing: Metalico Cowl Knitting Pattern

Hello, pretty yarn! I received a hank of Metalico by Blue Sky Alpacas during our Christmas yarn swap at my knitting group. I hadn't seen the yarn before and I fell in love! Metalico is a blend of baby alpaca and raw silk. The yarn is shiny and luxurious and I wanted to make something I'd wear a lot. So meet the Metalico Cowl! This cowl is knitted using just one skein of this yarn and it's the perfect size.

Metalico Cowl – #211

Color Cinnabar #1615 – 1 skein

The Metalico Cowl knitting pattern is available for sale in my Ravelry store. Click here to view on Ravelry.

Hi cutie!

I had the pleasure of hitting a few yarn stores in San Diego today and found one of my new designs in the wild. Graphic design surprise! Whitney by Plymouth Yarn is a really nice blend of cotton and nylon. It's soft and washable...and doesn't it look adorable? Yarning for You in San Marcos has a huge supply With tons of colors. I might have to get a few myself!

I am in love with this chair from Orvis... maybe I need to get crafty, hit some garage sales and make my own Union Jack chair.

garage sale fun

Here's my fun garage sale finds for the day, a gold glitter tray that is amazing and really rad gold earrings that will look great while I hang out with my tray. Lastly is an avocado recipe books that looks like it's out of the late '60s or early '70s. I'm not sure, when did Los Angeles have a ZIP code of 54? I love the glowing guacamole and burning candles. And, inside tucked in with avocado recipes is a newspaper clipping with the title "Ex-Fatty Teen Cooks For Fun."
