IF Double

double_IF

Here's my first entry for Illustration Friday. My friend Susie, the same Susie that made me this adorable painting of Henry and Lola, introduced me to this project for artists. Each Friday the website announces a topic and you have one week to complete it, this week's topic: double.

It felt really good to spend a little time creating something for fun and now I can't wait to see what next week's topic is.

Product Packaging: Yarn Label for Coffee Beenz

Coffee Beenz Yarn Label

A few months ago I talked about my design process for a new yarn label design, and today I got samples! The yarn, Coffee Beenz by Plymouth Yarn Company has a rich color palette and soft hand. The label has warm tones that work well with each of the colors of the yarn. I'm excited to whip something up, maybe a latte?

Flat Sidewalks in San Francisco?

A really fun project by photographer Dan Ng, The Streets of San Francisco ... But Flat? has photos framed level with the sidewalks instead of with the buildings. It's a neat take on some classic San Francisco scenes.

The Abstract Expressionists

Paintings from Mark Rothko, Joan Mitchell, and Jackson Pollock are set on an awesome collection of stamps. I think they're too pretty to mail, and $4.40 makes for a really cheap way to get some master paintings. I think I'll get a set and hang it on the wall.

Print is dead. Or is it?

A clever video by the Penguin Publishing Group.
