Heather, a Philadelphia native, learned to appreciate a comfortable handknit as a winter necessity. With her Graphic Design degree from Philadelphia College of Textiles & Science in hand, she made her mark at IKEA with her innovative designs. California called and Heather answered when she relocated to Oceanside with her soon to be husband Thomas.

In the summer of 2004 Heather, a new knitter, saw the potential artistry in handknits. She opened NobleKnits West a mile from her home in one direction and the Pacific Ocean in the other. A popular, hip neighborhood hangout for lovers of fiber was born.

In 2007, Heather’s heart once again turned to design. She closed the shop and began Heather Ink, a successful freelance design business. Heather Ink attracts clients that are looking to be set apart from the crowd. Bright colors, vintage stylings and natural textures all work their way into Heather's design work. Heather Ink attracts clients from the knitting and fiber industry and also the design world such as interior designers and photographers and specializes in logos, brand identities, packaging and product photography.

Encouraged by Nancy Queen, the reigning queen of NobleKnits (and her sister), Heather has also developed Ewe Ewe Yarns, a 100% Australian merino wool spun in Italy. Soft on the hand with a brilliant color palette, Heather designs the products, packaging, brand image and has a full line of original patterns to offer knitters of every skill level. Ewe Ewe Wooly Worsted Washable is an exceptional first launch. Stay tuned to see what else this talented designer, knitter and business woman has to offer.

Heather plans to continue designing forward into the future. She continues to be inspired at her home in Oceanside with her husband Thomas and their two very large, very crazy dogs. Contact her at heather@heatherink.com.
