Bamboo beauty

I love this fun basket my parents sent us for Christmas. It's made from recycled bamboo chopsticks, stained with black tea leaves and strung together with a little fishing line. It's simplicity makes it strikingly beautiful and I love the shadows it creates.

Thinking the clouds away

You may have heard that it has been raining for days in California, an unusual treat that turned into a travesty. There's tons of flooding all over the state because the clay earth is fully saturated, we're safe here with nothing more than a few puddles on the lawn and filled plant pots. But now it looks like sunny California is back, at least for now.

An evening at home

Reindeer games

Every year I try and get Henry and Lola to pose for photos in these antlers and I could never figure out why they wouldn't sit still. This year it was three humans and a bucket of treats versus one dog at a time.

After crying with laughter and barely being able to hold the camera still, now I understand why I've never had a successful photo before. Apparently wearing stuffed antlers is, in a dog's mind, akin to sitting on a hot poker and not being allowed to scream.
